No referral is needed for private sessions. However, if you would like to access Medicare rebates, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. See our Appointments page for more details on Medicare and other funding options.
Yes, telehealth appointments are available via secure video. In-person sessions are also offered. We can discuss which option works best for you when you get in touch.
This varies for each person and situation. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll discuss this together and regularly review progress to make sure therapy is meeting your needs.
We work with school-age children, adolescents, and adults. We have particular experience working with children and families, and tailor our approach to each age group and individual.
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of psychological practice. There are limited exceptions required by law, including situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others, and court orders. Confidentiality and its limits are discussed at the start of therapy.
This is very common and completely understandable. The first session is typically a parent-only session, so your child does not need to attend straight away. Your psychologist can also give you some helpful ideas for explaining the appointment to your child in a way that feels comfortable for them.
Absolutely. We strongly encourage both parents or primary caregivers to attend where possible, particularly for the initial session. This helps build a full picture of your child and ensures everyone is on the same page.
Yes. With your consent, we can liaise with your child’s school, observe in the classroom or playground, and collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to your child’s wellbeing.
